FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We know you probably have a few questions about playing for 206. We've tried to answer many of them here, but if you have additional questions please send us an email and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.

What is 206's mission statement?

206 Volleyball Club aspires to create a life changing experience for young athletes. With focus on camaraderie, work ethic, vision, and humility, our goal is to empower athletes with the life skills to become happy and whole young women.

What are 206's competitive goals?

We hope to field the most skilled, competitive teams possible. This being said, our main goal is to show respect, sportsmanship, and cohesiveness on and off the court. This will help our athletes develop into strong, mindful young women which in our view will only contribute to our success on the court. It’s a win-win.

Who do I talk to if I have questions or concerns?

Email info@206volleyball.com.

How much does it cost? What is the payment structure? What does my payment cover?

Club fees for the 2021-2022 season are listed on the “2022 Club Season Info” page.

When will I know if I've made a team?

You will know within one day of tryouts.

What are the coach's coaching credentials?

All 206 coaches are IMPACT and safe sport certified. We also require all of our coaches to have prior competitive coaching and playing experience. Please see each coach’s individual bios listed on our coaches page.

What are the determinants for playing time?

The starting team at each tournament will be based entirely on merit - athletic and attitude. Players' performance, work ethic, sportsmanship and overall attitude both on and off the court at practices and tournaments will determine their court time at the next tournament.

What is the tournament schedule?

We are participating in the Puget Sound Region Power League which has us competing at least one Saturday per month, Jan - April, plus one seeding day in January for U13 and above. We will also be playing in one other tournament per month, with two overnight travel tournaments during the season. Our tentative 2022 tournament schedule is listed on the tournament page.

If a player cannot make a competition day, how much notice does the club need?

At least one week, and this information should be communicated from the player to the coach if possible.

What is the practice frequency? Location?

In the 2022 season, teams have two practices and an optional conditioning session each week. Practices will be held at TBD. Conditioning will be at Vice Athletics (formally known as 3D Total Health) in Magnolia. Practices will typically run for 2 hours and may start as early as 5:30 pm or go as late as 9:30 pm.

Who is allowed to attend practices?

It is club policy that only the players are in attendance at practice - no parents or friends please. We feel that this will help the athletes focus. Coaches will be available for interaction with parents after practice.

Beyond paying dues, what is expected of parents?

We encourage parents to attend as many of the competition days as possible wearing 206 gear and cheering for our teams in the stands! Each team needs 1-2 team parent volunteers to support the coaches with parent communications and coordinating things like tournament food, team dinners and chaperones during travel tournaments, as well as optional team bonding events such as a pizza parties or other activities.
